All of the pretties ~ Farmhouse Style

Hi Lovelies!

If you know me, then you know that I love Fixer Upper and the FARMHOUSE STYLE. It’s seriously my favorite. I love barn doors and rustic touches everywhere. I have always wondered what theme or design I wanted to go with when it came to decorating our home. Farmhouse style has been at the top for awhile now. I love the beautiful look of shiplap, the rustic touch of barn doors on metal railings and love chippy items (tables & candle sticks). You name it, I love it!

I wanted to share with you all a few things that I have been eyeing lately but am just resisting buying at the moment seeing as how we are moving in May into another apartment. Got to save for that and then start saving for a house now that we know we can apply for a home loan (just want to save up for a good down payment).

Onto what I have been drooling over!!

Let’s be real… how adorable is the little washing machine tin!!! LOVE IT! And it’s not that expensive on worldmarket.com. Again, these are just a few of the things I’ve been eye-balling. I just need to come up with some “play” money so I can get it all. Ha Ha!

Comment below with your favorite decorating style! I’d love to hear from you ❤

Money Savings Bingo >> New Years Resolution

31980964871_b5155bf1f6_o

Now, I know what you’re thinking, “Oh god, Katie is doing a New Years resolution..new year..new her, thing. It’ll never work and everyone does the same thing.” Well, you’re mistaken. I’m not doing a “new year, new me” thing, I’m doing a save more money…thing.

Every year people try to set these super high New Years resolutions. “I’m going to lose 100lbs, I’m going to buy a lambo”, something like that. I want to be more realistic and just try to save more money this year. Now, last year I had started the savings bingo and I got quite far but then an unexpected expense popped up and I had to deplete the funds (thank God for those funds though for covering it). *Insert crying face*. This year I plan on doing things differently. Before, I would just put money in all the time, not leaving any out to go toward added expenses and then would end up having to empty out the jar (which should be left alone and not touched till it’s completed). With that being said, this year I plan on just depositing around $50 from each of my checks. That way, I still have money set aside for bills, groceries or any emergencies that might pop up. My hopes are to be able to not touch the money in the jar and end up completing the entire bingo chart. (has yet to happen)

Now, if you’re someone who has trouble saving money and complain all the time about being broke, then you should TOTALLY check this out and give it a try! It’s really easy and fun because you get to color in all the squares once you’ve completed that deposit. *insert cheesy grin*

Here’s how the bingo chart works:

  1. Print Chart (see photo below to print)
  2. Find a jar or other way to store money
  3. Tape chart to jar or have it in whatever container you choose
  4. Mark off each square as you deposit that amount
(i.e: Square 34 – Deposit $34 or if you’re unable to afford that amount, maybe do pennies. So 34 pennies)
  5. Complete Bingo Chart = Cha-Ching! $$$$$$$$

Savings Bingo

The Bingo Savings chart is really fun and a great way to get your children started on learning how to save money. Trust me, saving money should be taught because it’ll help in the long run (I know this because I was never really taught to save money and it affected me once I moved out #alwaysbroke). For children, I would recommend doing pennies (unless of course you’re giving your child $52 for some reason lol).

“Is there a certain day or week I should be depositing and marking off a square?”
No. I tend to just go off of when I get paid. If for some reason, I have extra income from either Swagbucks or photos, then I might put a little extra in the jar and mark off a few more squares. Other than that, I just do every pay day.

If you end up having any questions or want to get started on saving money and leaving the broke life behind, feel free to drop a comment below or if you’re on FB – message me.

Hope you all enjoyed my post! Here’s to a new year and more money!! $$$$
